CASE STUDY IN THE WILD

We spoke to one of our longstanding customers at Aker Fire & Security about their experience with Uniview & CCTVdirect. Tag the Managing Director & Pete the Operations Manager told us all about their ongoing project with a large scale Wildlife Park.

“The ease of install & integration of the cameras into the habitat of wild animals has given the keepers & vets priceless insights into previously unknown areas of behaviour by providing crystal clear images & audio 24/7“

Amazingly clear CCTV footage

In association with CCTVdirect, Aker Fire & Security revolutionised a poor quality, non-functioning CCTV system. Starting back in 2017, Tag & his team have been continuously upgrading the system, which once was unreliable, putting visitors & others at risk.

After initially visiting the site & identifying what needed to be resolved, they decided Uniview was the best option due to the sophisticated smart analytics & wide range of products available.

CCTV has many uses

Working alongside the CCTVdirect Sales & Technical teams, Aker Fire & Security specified & fitted a wide range of Uniview products including an array of CCTV Cameras & NVRs throughout the Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire.

A mix of over 350 Turrets, Domes, Bullets, Fisheye & PTZ cameras were installed at key parts of the site. To power those 350 cameras, a range of 4, 8, 16 & 32 channel Network Video Recorders were installed.

The purpose of the system is used to monitor the different animals housed within the park. This allows the keepers to see another side of the animals that they had no access to beforehand.

Utilising the time-lapse function, the Wildlife Park can monitor the growth & development of various animals throughout the park.

Using state of the art Uniview technology, Aker Fire & Security were able to provide amazing crystal clear images & where needed, 24/7 audio streams.

Phenomenal smart analytics

In addition to the amazing footage, Smart Analytics were used to survey the animals, keepers and visitors within the park, which also included Facial Recognition.

This particular VCA allowed the keepers to monitor who was entering a section of the wildlife park or an animals enclosure.
Multifunctional solution

Uniview IP CCTV is so versatile that it provides more than just monitoring capabilities. Used to its full potential, you can create a fully multifunctional solution.

This project obviously needed more than just CCTV products & we provided all other components required to make this large-scale system work efficiently.

The premium VueNet CAT5e & CAT6 network cable exclusively available at CCTVdirect, was used to connect cameras & recorders.

Alongside the cable, VueNet EasyLinks WiFi links were used to combat those hard to wire places the team came across at the Wildlife Park. As well as both internal & external EasySwitch switches from VueNet to provide reliable PoE ports to the NVRs.

Sales Director, Stuart Normington, who worked alongside Aker Fire & Security said:

“It’s great to see our Uniview CCTV systems used for such an interesting project. The way Tag has utilised the Smart Analytic features on this site really shows what you can do with CCTV.“
