BULLET CCTV CAMERAS

Bullet cameras are the original, and perhaps most recognisable CCTV cameras on the market. This means they not only provide high-quality surveillance but also act as a deterrent against intrusion, theft, and wrongdoing.

The shape of a bullet camera also allows the use of larger lenses and more varied technologies than can be fitted within the smaller casing of a dome or turret model of camera. This makes bullet cameras particularly suited to monitoring larger areas, such as yards, warehouses, gardens, and parking lots.

Bullet IP Cameras FAQ

1. What is the difference between dome and bullet cameras?

Dome cameras
are placed in a dome-shaped protective casing while bullet cameras are typically larger and set within an oblong case. For this reason, dome cameras are more discreet and harder to tamper with, while bullet cameras are more imposing, work better as a deterrent, and can monitor a larger area.

Another key difference between dome cameras and bullet cameras is the night vision setup: in a dome camera the infrared and the lens are not separate, which under some circumstance can result in a lower quality night vision image.

2. Are bullet or dome cameras better?

Both bullet and dome cameras have their own advantages and disadvantages. Whether you choose a dome or a bullet camera depends on what you want do with it. If the IP camera is easily accessible then it would be wise to choose a dome camera as they are more resistant to vandalism and tampering. If you need to surveil a large area then a bullet camera is better because they have are capable of having a longer range. Bullet cameras are also less discreet than dome cameras, which can be an advantage if you want your cameras to also serve as a deterrent.
