SIP Quick Start
If you camera / NVR has Smart Intrusion Prevention (SIP) enabled these, steps will help you setup and customise the tool:
- Activate SIP
- Setup Detection
- Setup Triggers
- Setup Arming Schedule
Activate SIP Tool
By default, SIP is disabled. To enable any SIP feature, on the NVR or in the Cloud Portal do the following:
- Open MENU
- Go to VCA menu
- Change SELECT CHANNEL field to [CAMERA]
- Tick the CHECKBOX of [SIP TOOL]
The chosen tool will be enabled for the selected camera of choice and ready to setup.
Which SIP tool do I need?
Smart Intrusion Prevention has four detection tools you can choose from:
- Cross Line Detection: Trigger an action when the [PERSON / VEHICLE] has crossed over a drawn line.
- Intrusion Detection: Trigger an action when an [PERSON / VEHICLE] has remained in a drawn area.
- Enter Area: Trigger an action when an [PERSON / VEHICLE] has entered a drawn area.
- Leave Area: Trigger an action when an [PERSON / VEHICLE] has left a drawn area.
Setup Detection Rules
The detection RULES tell the camera what content will trigger the VCA within a drawn area. By default, you will need to setup the detection rules before it will be active.
- Open the VCA CONFIG menu
- Change SELECT CHANNEL field to [CAMERA]
- Select the COG next to [SIP TOOL]
- Select EDIT BOX on [AREA RULE ROW]
- Click on the screen to DRAW the area
i. TIP: You can double click to autocomplete the draw area! - Right Click to CLOSE
- Click APPLY
The AREA RULE will now be setup with the default settings. You can customise the rule settings for TRIGGER DIRECTION, SENSITIVITY, PRIORITY, OBJECT TYPE, of this drawn area when the rule row is selected.
Setup Triggers
When the VCA has been triggered, TRIGGER ACTIONS are where you tell the NVR what you need to do when this has triggered. So, there’s many options to choose from but the main one you’ll want to enable is RECORDING:
- Open the VCA CONFIG menu
- Change SELECT CHANNEL field to [CAMERA]
- Select the COG next to [SIP TOOL]
- Select the COG next to TRIGGER ACTIONS
- Select the RECORDING tab
- Tick the CHECKBOX of [CAMERA]
- Click APPLY
This same process applies for any of the other trigger actions available to your camera including ALARM SOUND, GO TO PRESET, PREVIEW, ALARM OUTPUT, CAMERA ALARM SOUND, CAMERA FLASHING LIGHTS, and SEND EMAIL.
Setup Arming Schedule
The ARMING SCHEDULE is where you’re telling the NVR that when you want the VCA to be active at certain times of day. Some setups only enable SIP during the night to get more storage space.
- Open the VCA CONFIG menu
- Change SELECT CHANNEL field to [CAMERA]
- Select the COG next to [SIP TOOL]
- Select the COG next to ARMING SCHEDULE
- Select DAY
- Enter Start Time (24-hour format)
- Enter End Time (24-hour format)
- Repeat up to four times
- Next to COPY TO tick each CHECKBOX of each [DAY] that schedule applies
- Click APPLY
Scheduling Tip
If you wanted to setup overnight into the next day (e.g. between the hours of 10pm-7am the next morning) these rules are set on 1 day.
|
Rule |
Start Time |
End Time |
|
1 |
22:00 |
23:59 |
|
2 |
00:00 |
07:00 |
For example: On RULE 1 you would set the start time at 22:00 and the end time at 23:59. Then on RULE 2 you would set the start time as 00:00 (This has now moved onto the next morning). And the end time as 07:00. So that will keep the arming schedule rule consistent and in one place.
